1. ใช้กับ Nouns และ Pronouns
เช่นJack and Jill are cousins. (แจ๊คและจิลเป็นลูกพี่ลูกน้อง)That puppy is Mam’s. (ลูกสุนัขตัวนั้นเป็นของแหม่ม)They are Thai boxers. (เขาทั้งหลายเป็นนักมวยไทย)
2. ใช้กับ Adjectives และ Adverbs
เช่น My uncle is a kind man. (ลุงของฉันเป็นคนใจดี) People in the hall are friendly. (ผู้คนในห้องประชุมเป็นมิตรกัน) The tortoise is walking slowly. (เต่าเดินอย่างเชื่องช้า)
3. ใช้กับ Prepositions
เช่น The red bag is on the floor. (กระเป๋าสีแดงอยู่บนพื้น) The patients are in the hospital. (คนไข้อยูในโรงพยาบาล)
4. ใช้กับประโยค Continuous Tense
เช่น They are riding their bicycles. (เขาทั้งหลายกาลังขี่จักรยานของเขา) Teacher is writhing on the board. (ครูกาลังเขียนบนกระดาน)
5. verb to be ในประโยคคำถาม และ ปฏิเสธ ให้เติม not หลัง is, am, are Example (ในรูปประโยคปฏิเสธ)
The hospital is not far from here. (โรงพยาบาลอยู่ไม่ไกลจากที่นี่) I an not a worker. (ฉันไม่ได้เป็นผู้ใช้แรงงาน) The pairs of shoes are not clean. (รองเท้าหลายคู่ไม่สะอาด)
6. ให้นา Is, Am, Are ขึ้นต้นประโยค Example (ในรูปประโยคคาถาม ) Is the knife sharp? (มีดคมไหม) Are the lions roaring loudly? (สิงโตคำรำมเสียงดังไหม) Am I fat? (ฉันอ้วนหรือ)
